Description
Summary:
This is an office role that would provide senior level project manager support for Energy related projects. This role would include items related to project management such as developing proposals, preparing scope of work and associated fees, managing project teams, monitoring budgets, scheduling and working with project teams. This position could include the need to manage and mentor staff, provide coaching to staff and team and support career development. Professional expectations would include boundary calculations, professional review of others boundary calculations, easement review and analysis, title and deed review, professional review of survey drawings prepared by others, consulting with and mentoring young or inexperienced staff with survey calculations, concepts or decision making, consulting with peers regarding professional decision making, business development as directed by Energy Sector Leader, and professional consulting. This candidate may be expected to develop project budgets, would be accountable for working within project budgets and managing time across multiple projects. This role may include the expectation for managing people. This position would require a utilization rate of 60% - 75%.
Essential Functions

- Assist in developing strategies for Energy team
- Professional review of drawings, maps, reports and legal descriptions of surveys
- Professional review of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
- Provide direction and support for field staff in conducting surveys
- Oversee staff responsible for converting field survey data into CAD drawings
- Perform and/or provide professional oversight for survey calculations for property boundaries, easements, deeds, etc.
- Provide professional oversight for all aspects of field survey operations if needed
- Provide professional oversight and/or review for all aspects of preparation of drawings, plots, maps, easements, records and documents related to surveys for the Energy team
- Prepare and/or oversee written legal descriptions of property boundaries for use in deeds, easements or other legal documents
- Search or provide oversight of researching legal records, survey records, and land titles in order to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed
- Support and mentor survey staff

- Knowledge of survey laws in multiple states

Organizational Relationships
- Reports directly to Energy Sector leader
Required Education/Experience
- 25+ years’ experience in surveying
- Professional Survey License
Travel
- 20% local/regional travel
