We are excited to welcome an experienced Party Chief Surveyor to our dynamic team! As our new Party Chief Surveyor, you will manage a survey crew that performs boundary, topography, right-of-way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. Our projects will involve roadway and bridge construction, asphalt and concrete paving, and we are looking for someone with significant experience in these types of projects.
Position_Description :
Responsibilities:
- Set project control points.
- Run bench loops using conventional and digital levels.
- Maintain survey equipment.
- Perform all types of survey layouts and as-builts.
- For bridge layouts, help set alignment and grade for bid-well, perform drilled shafts, footings, columns, caps, abutments, bearing seats, profile tie beams, overhangs, and other related tasks.
- For roadways, stake for excavation, set subgrade bluetops, profile subgrade and asphalt, set paving nails for concrete lanes/widths on asphalt.
- For walls, perform MSE walls + cast-in-place walls, underdrain, concrete footing, coping level-up.
- Perform storm drain, topos, as-builts, road signs, and pavement striping tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements :
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing survey layouts.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Bridge Surveying and surface models.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using Trimble S5 and S6 robotics, Trimble TSC 3 data collectors with the Access program, calculator, and Trimble GPS units.
- Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and pass a driver's license background check.
- Understand instrument setup quality and staking tolerances.
- Proficient in reading plans/layout sheets.
- Ability to perform survey layouts using station and offsets, point staking, staking line between points, using roadway baselines/centerlines, set grade with 3D surface models.
- Ability to set grades with given elevations or DTMs.
- Ability to attach and detach the following files: roadway centerlines, DTMs, CSVs, and TXTs.
- Willing to work 40-60 hours weekly.
- Strong math skills.
- GED or high school diploma, associate degree is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English (Spanish is a plus).
- Willingness to potentially work nights and weekends.
- No fear of heights.
- Willingness to work during summer and winter days.
